Hello SGVR PCA!  

It was a fantastic Porsche and Poppy event….not so much for the poppies but for the great people and Porsches that made for a great trip.  The drive was fun and relaxing.  Although we arrived early, the parking lot was packed and the wait time to get in was very long.   With intense heat, many of our cars just weren’t happy and the blooms were hiding from the heat too so we got back on the road and enjoyed the ride to Lucille’s BBQ where we had a fantastic lunch.  It was so great to have some new members with us as well.  Poppies or not…it was a good time and I look forward to next event!

CLUB News

  • SGVR PCA has started using WhatsApp in a limited capacity.  We used it to communicate during our Club Drive to Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve and have been using it as a means of communication for Board Members too.  If you are not already using WhatsApp you may want to take a moment, download it and get acquainted with it.   Currently we will be using it as a communication tool during Club Drives.   It allows everyone on a drive to communicate with the drive group, share photos, etc.  Just a helpful tool.  This is optional, not required. A QR code of the WhatsApp drive group will be given out at the pre-meet location prior to the drive.
  • Board Meetings – The Next boarding meeting is March 31st at 6PM. The Events calendar has been updated with SGVR PCA Board Meetings for the year, subject to change of course.
  • Name Badges – If you ordered name badges but have not received them, please email infoSGVRpca@gmail.com.
  • Our next Cars and Coffee event on April 12th will be at the Pasadena Elks Lodge Cars & Coffee. Please be sure to make special note of this change in location. Pre-meet information on the members forum.  Please come hungry – the Elks Lodge will have a food truck – Pies and Burgers.
  • Members Forum – We have 86 of the 800+ members registered in the members forum.  We have a long way to go so please be sure to Register today if you haven’t done so. 
  • Facebook –  To better server our members and to maintain group privacy we will be rolling out a Facebook private group.  This allows us to engage our members quickly and without limitations set by a public group while insuring we limit important information to our members only.  We will continue to use our public facing Facebook account as well giving you the freedom to interactive with us on Facebook that best suits your needs.  Stay tuned…more info coming.
  • Event Calendar – on the sgvr.pca.org website we have an event calendar.  This event calendar will link important dates to your Google Cal or iCal as well as link important information to the members forum.  Select a date, click on the event you are interested in and then choose “Read more” at the bottom of the pop up window.  This will take you to another window with additional detail shown below.  The more Information button will link you to a members forum post with additional information such as pre-meet and drive info.

  • 4/18 – Club Drive – Save the Date 
  • 5/15-5/17 Spring Overnight Drive Tour – to Allegretto Vineyard Resort and Hearst Castle.   Registration opened yesterday on the members forum.   As of writing this email there were only 2 spots remaining so if you are interested hurry and register.  more info  – Registration is now OPEN​
  • VOLUNTEERS needed!
    • To keep our club moving forward and doing great things we need volunteers.
      • a few minutes a week can make a big impact.  Please consider getting involved and let us know how you want to help out.
      • We dont pay much…in fact the pay is $0 but the thanks you get and friends you make is well worth it.
